Today was the longest car trip I have taken to go about 20 km! (maybe a little more).
It is Easter holidays and the traffic is a lot of families getting away for the weekend. We saw so many trailers and caravans, even the odd campervan on the road. The majority had bikes on the roof, bike carrier or somewhere else on their vehicle. It was terrible!
This was just on the highway, mixed in with people coming home from work! The maximum speed, upon reaching the traffic jam, was 60km/hr, instead of the normal 100km/hr (if you like to stick to the speed limit that is). I got off the highway, deciding to take the backroads. Well!!!!! It seemed like a lot of other people had the same idea, and it was those who didn't know the back back roads that were clogging up the usually nice and easy back roads. So, onto the back back roads, and they were great, easy and I even did 80km/hr at one stage. I was excited!
Unfortunately I had to get off the back back roads and onto the main drag again (not the highway this time though). I think I hit 30km/hr at one stage. It took me 45 minutes to complete a 10 minute road. I had even contemplated walking, but unfortunately walking with 4 kids just wouldn't prove faster then doing 10km/hr in the car.
Another thing I should note is the small orange light on the dashboard. I didn't run out of petrol, fortunately (no one would have reached me for ages if I had run out of petrol, and for that I am grateful).
Well, I was able to get hubby to do an errand for me (he knows the back back back roads better then i do), but I still didn't reach my destination in time. I guess it can wait until next week. It has to now!
The drive home was great, wonderful and exciting. So exciting that I forgot to claim my discount on the petrol I bought! Doh!
Home, some expensive groceries in the boot, and I find my brand new lawn mower and line trimmer in the yard. Woot!
We now have a Sanli lawnmower - http://www.productreview.com.au/showitem.php?item_id=49277
If it is dry tomorrow, I am checking it out. It is my toy and gym equipment! We also have a line trimmer (electric) - http://www.toro.com.au/pope/product.cfm?prd=368#

I am tired, the kids are feeding the sandswimmers (great pets they are), so I will leave you with an example of what happens when you visit your pastors home for afternoon tea.
