Description

Why not serve something a little different for dessert?

Ingredients

  • 110 g plain/all-purpose flour
  • 70 g cocoa powder
  • 50 g icing sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tbsp milk
  • 1⁄2 c extra flour

Instructions

1. In a bowl, combine all ingredients with your hands, except for the extra flour.
2. The mix should form a firm dough. If it is too dry add extra milk (1 tsp at a time)
3. Take dough out and place on a floured bench surface. You will need to knead the dough for approximately 10 minutes, until it soft enough to work through the pasta maker, or roll out without coming apart.
4. Put through the pasta maker on the largest setting for sheet pasta. Always dust lightly with flour before putting through the roller. Gradually reduce it to the desired thickness, with each time through.
5. Put through the noodle/spaghetti cutter part of the pasta maker.
6. Allow to dry/sit for approximately 15 minutes before cooking.
7. Cook in boiling water for approximately 15 seconds.
8. Serve while hot, with a scoop of ice cream and some thick/rich chocolate topping.

Notes

The pasta is not a sweet pasta as the cocoa is bitter. This pasta goes better when it is served with a sweet topping.
