Today, while hubby slept and M12 went to church, I headed to the markets with the other 3 in tow. I was having an off day, just me and some of the kids.
It was hot at the markets and HEAPS of people there, it felt like peak hour traffic. But it was still good and 1 hour wasn’t enough to browse as much as we wanted.
We did come home with 1kg of strawberries, some herbs, seed bells, crochet cotton and a couple of desert roses.
The desert rose that we came home with is a hardy, drought tolerant plant. Hopefully this means it will thrive on neglect! You can find out more about it here.
The herbs that we picked up were chamomile, valerian, stevia.
I may be able to make good use of these.
Apart from the plants that we bought, we planted 4 tangello seeds today. I was experimenting with some seeds from a tangello fruit. I scored/cut off the tip of two seeds and the remaining 4 I left whole, put them in a cup with some fish tank water, and then forgot about them while they sat on the window sill, covered in a plastic freezer bag. The other day I checked on them and 2 of the seeds had started to sprout! Woot! Today I discovered 2 of the other seeds were also growing. Cool! They are now in seed raising mix and will hopefully grow for me.
