Rasita My Family, My Animals, My Food

See these things…well you may have to imagine them. They are baby mice at 2 days old. We have counted at least 10 in there.

J9 got upset today when she thought the mummy mouse had eaten them all. I had trouble reassuring her that the nest position had just changed. In the end we just pushed a little bit of material and sawdust aside to reveal the baby mice alive and happy in a different spot. J9 gets excited (all over again) when one of the babies squeek!

In other news, the vanilla slice is gooood! Though very rich. You can’t eat more then one in a sitting.  I will try to post the recipe at a later date. If I don’t get around to it, do a search on www.taste.com.au for vanilla slice and then have kids cook with you, add a little more of this, little less of that, change that completely and you have something similar to what I made. Hopefully I can repeat this to make it again another day, though if hubby wants it again, he will need to remind me, ask, beg, plead, or something like that.

In other news, I didn’t sew last night, I watched some TV (Zathura is good), finished off my rag rug and went to bed at normal time. I should have gone to bed early as I am so tired today. I imagine J9 and M12 are tired as they were home later then I was in bed last night!

So, today is father’s day. What did you do for your father? I am going to ring mine soon. I am a little slack this year!
